Dakeng No. 9 and No. 9-1 Trails Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational site for the citizens of Taichung, offering a peaceful retreat for the mind, as well as a place for hikers to enjoy outdoor fitness. It is a popular tourist attraction in central Taiwan, where you can often see families and friends enjoying their time together, making it a shared backyard for the residents of Taichung. The most distinctive features of this area are its 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1-8 were established in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain where Dakeng Mountain meets streams, with the highest point reaching 859 meters at Touke Mountain. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 9 has a length of about 1.6 kilometers, making it suitable for families. Trailhead: Head straight along Jingbu Road opposite the Boku Parking Lot until you reach the Jiu-Jiu Bridge. Features: This trail is lined with lush greenery, offering a serene environment and broad views of the urban landscape of the 11th phase redevelopment area. It also features a former ammunition depot from the Japanese colonial period and the Dali River, with the intersection being the 921 Earthquake Park. Trail No. 9-1 has a length of about 0.6 kilometers, also suitable for families. Trailhead: From the Boku Parking Lot, head straight past the Jiu-Jiu Bridge. Features: Along the way to the trailhead, there is a farmer's market where hikers can purchase local agricultural products from the Dakeng area.
