Dakeng No. 9 and No. 9-1 Trails Introduction
Dagang Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dagang Scenic Area is an important recreational spot for residents of Taichung City, providing a place for spiritual relaxation and a destination for hikers to exercise. It has become a popular tourist attraction in central Taiwan. On weekends and holidays, you can often see groups of people and families enjoying the scenery together, making it a shared backyard for the citizens of Taichung. One of the most distinctive features of the area is its 13 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were established in the early 1980s, constructed based on the natural terrain created by the intersections of Dagang Mountain and streams, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Toukeng Mountain. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail No. 9 is approximately 1.6 kilometers long, suitable for families to walk together. Access point: Directly across from the Bengu parking lot along Jingbu Road to Jiujiu Bridge. Characteristics: This trail is lined with greenery, providing a peaceful environment with expansive views, allowing you to overlook the urban scenery of the 11th phase redevelopment area. There are also remnants of an ammunition depot from the Japanese colonial period and the Dali River nearby, with the entrance leading to the 921 Earthquake Park. Trail No. 9-1 is about 0.6 kilometers long and is also suitable for family walks. Access point: Proceed straight along Jingbu Road and go through Jiujiu Bridge. Characteristics: A farmer's market is set up along the way to the trailhead, where hikers can find locally produced agricultural products from the Dagang area.
