Dakeng No. 7 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area - Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure spot for the citizens of Taichung, serving as a place for spiritual rejuvenation and a destination for hikers to exercise and enjoy nature. It is one of the popular tourist attractions in central Taiwan, where one can regularly see enthusiasts and families enjoying their time together, making it a communal backyard for Taichung residents. The most distinctive feature of the area is its 14 hiking trails. Trails 1 to 8 were established in the early 1980s, designed according to the natural terrain of the intertwining Dakeng Mountain and streams, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Toudou Mountain. Trail 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail 7 is approximately 1.3 kilometers long and suitable for people of all ages. The trailhead is located about 20 meters uphill from the parking lot of Trail 6. Visitors can turn left at the entrance and go uphill; following the industrial road downhill and then uphill will lead to Guanyin Pavilion. The right turn at the fork leads to the parking lot of Trail 6. On weekends, Guanyin Pavilion often attracts a large number of visitors, and the industrial road is one-way, so visitors are advised to use public transportation or walk to enhance their experience and reduce traffic congestion (cars are not recommended to enter the parking lot and Guanyin Pavilion). Feature: The end of the trail leads to Wind-Driven Stone Park, with a variety of orchards along the way, including citrus, longan, and lychee trees, offering a pleasant shady environment with a gentle slope that is easy to walk.
