It has become a popular tourist attraction in central Taiwan; on regular days and holidays, it’s common to see groups of friends and families enjoying their time, making it a communal backyard for the citizens of Taichung. The most unique feature of the area is its 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were opened in 1981, constructed according to the natural terrain of the overlapping Dakeng Mountain and stream, with the highest peak being Touke Mountain at an elevation of 859 meters. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 7 is approximately 1.3 kilometers long, suitable for people of all ages. The trailhead is located about 20 meters left uphill from the parking lot of Trail No. 6. A downhill path from the industry road can lead to Guanyin Pavilion, while the right fork leads back to the parking lot of Trail No. 6. Due to the large number of visitors at Guanyin Pavilion on weekends, the access road is one-way. It is recommended that visitors use public transportation or walk to the area to facilitate sightseeing and reduce traffic congestion (car access to the parking lot and Guanyin Pavilion is not advised). Features: The end of the trail leads to Fengdongshi Park, with various orchards along the way such as citrus, longan, and lychee.
