Dakeng No. 7 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area – Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational spot for residents of Taichung City, a place for hikers to exercise and enjoy nature, and a popular tourist destination in central Taiwan. On regular days and holidays, you can see many people enjoying the area together with family and friends, making it a shared backyard for the citizens of Taichung. The most distinctive feature is its 14 hiking trails, with Trails 1 to 8 established in the early 1980s based on the natural terrain of interwoven Dakeng Mountain and streams, reaching a highest elevation of 859 meters at Touke Mountain. Trail 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail 7 is about 1.3 kilometers long and suitable for all ages. Trailhead: About 20 meters to the left uphill from the parking lot of Trail 6; the industry road continues downhill before going uphill straight to Guanyin Pavilion. The right turn at the fork leads to the parking lot of Trail 6. Since Guanyin Pavilion often attracts many visitors on weekends, the industry road is one-way, so it is recommended for visitors to use public transportation or walk to avoid traffic congestion (driving cars into the parking lot and Guanyin Pavilion is not recommended). Features: The endpoint of the trail leads to Wind Moving Stone Park, with various orchards along the way, such as citrus, longan, and lychee, shaded by trees, making it very pleasant and easy to walk due to its gentle slope.
