Dongfeng Bicycle Greenway Introduction
The Dongfeng Bicycle Green Corridor (0k~13.6k) is insured against public liability accidents. Formerly known as the Dongfeng Railway, also called the Dongshi Branch Line, it was built in 1958 and is one of the branch lines of Taiwan's mountain railway, running through Fengyuan, Shiqiang, and Dongshi. At that time, red cypress, Fujian cypress, and cedar from the Dongshi area needed to be transported, along with materials for constructing the Shiqiang Dam, and the transportation of agricultural products amounted to over one hundred thousand tons. Thus, the Dongfeng Railway came into being, and for the residents along the railway, it is a memory of the past. Since its opening on November 15, 2000, the Dongfeng Bicycle Green Corridor has become a new recreational spot in the Greater Taichung area during weekends and holidays. Along the route are attractions such as the Shiqiang Dam, Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park, natural ecology, and scenic buildings, providing visitors, whether families, couples, or for outdoor teaching, with rich travel planning options. Visitors can ride bicycles and experience the feeling of being close to and relaxing in nature. The route starts from the Green Love Wooden Clogs Painting Gallery → Puzih Station → Shiqiang Dam and 921 Earthquake Park (branch) → Shiqiang Granary (branch) → 0 Egg Platform → Visitor Service Center → Jiufang Fairytale World 3D Painting Village → Lover's Wooden Bridge, Shihsui Leisure Park, and Wufu Linmen Sacred Tree (branch) → Centenary Mango Tree → Meizi Station → Dongfeng Iron Bridge → Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park.
