Shigang Old Street, located in Shigang District, is situated on what is now Shigang Street, near Taiwan Route 3 and the Dongfeng Bicycle Path green corridor. Above the bicycle path, which was transformed from the "Lin Railroad," lies the old site of Shigang Railway Station. The prosperity of Shigang Old Street in the past was also due to this railway station, but as the Lin Railroad declined, Shigang Old Street experienced two major earthquakes, and its former glory has faded, replaced by modern concrete buildings. Currently, aside from preserving an old granary, only a few buildings on Shigang Street retain Japanese-style wooden bungalows and black-tiled rooftops. When visiting Shigang Old Street, locals also recommend the Shigang Lovers' Wooden Bridge and the Shigang Dam Ruins.

Shigang Old Street Introduction

Actually, upon arriving here, it is almost impossible to see the old street scenery. Without prior research, it would be difficult to find the location of the old street and the old buildings. The itinerary does not primarily focus on Shigang Old Street, but rather on the Dongfeng Bicycle Path Green Corridor. Recommended attractions include Shigang Old Railway Station, the Zero Egg Platform, Shigang Lover's Bridge, and Shigang Dam. The Dongfeng Bicycle Path Green Corridor also represents the past prosperity of the Shigang District, and the suddenly raised terrain next to the station was caused by the uplift from the 921 Earthquake.
