Taichung City Library, Shigang Branch Introduction
The Shigang Branch Library, completed in 1993, stands four stories tall with a building area of over 1,671 square meters. The outdoor reading area boasts beautiful scenery and has long become a well-known attraction in the Shigang District. Aiming to promote a culture of leisure, the library balances reading with entertainment and has evolved into a local cultural center that features social education, arts, folklore, and leisure activities. The library's management philosophy has always prioritized the needs of the public, continuously seeking innovation and change to encourage community participation and recognition from local residents, while adopting community-building practices to achieve sustainable development goals. Currently, the library and its surrounding outdoor space provide a total of 232 reading seats. Additionally, there is a Hakka Cultural Museum and specialty collection shelves within the library that preserve precious local historical materials and Hakka literature.
