Taichung City Library Shigang Branch Introduction
The Shigang Branch Library, completed in 1993, is four stories tall and has a total area of over 1,671 square meters. The outdoor reading area offers beautiful scenery and has become a well-known attraction in the Shigang District. Aiming to promote a leisurely cultural atmosphere, the library balances both reading and entertainment, becoming a local cultural center that features social education, arts, folk culture, and recreation. The library's operating philosophy has always prioritized the needs of the public, continuously seeking innovation and change to achieve public participation and recognition from local residents, and fostering a sustainable development approach through community building. Currently, the library and its surrounding outdoor spaces provide a total of 232 reading seats. In addition, the library also houses a Hakka Cultural Museum and special book collections, preserving valuable local historical materials and Hakka literature.
