Land Bank of Taiwan Tainan Branch (formerly Tainan Branch of the Bank of Japan) Introduction

The two main highlights at the intersection of Zhongzheng Road and Zhongyi Road are Lin Department Store and the Land Bank, which resembles a temple. During the Japanese colonial era, it was known as the Agricultural Bank, with the term "Agricultural" in Japanese meaning the promotion and reward of industry. The architectural style is very unique, featuring Greek temple-style columns neatly arranged on both sides, while the main building stands like an equilateral triangle, giving a very stable impression. Tourists often photograph the spectacular view of the Land Bank from the top floor of Lin Department Store, and many urban guided tours also include this site to appreciate the craftsmanship of the architecture. The tall exterior corridor ceiling is a nesting place for many swallows. When visitors look up at the magnificent columns, they can also witness swallows nurturing their young, making it a very interesting scene at the Land Bank.
