Wu Garden (Former Tainan Public Hall) Introduction

Wu Garden is an interesting site among the ancient monuments of Tainan City. From Minquan Road, the first thing you see is the Tainan Public Hall, a Baroque-style building. Next to it is the Shibama Tea House, a Japanese wooden structure. Continuing further is a classical Chinese garden, which is surrounded by modern skyscrapers in the back, creating a blend of different eras. On a weekday afternoon, the grassy steps in front of Wu Garden are always filled with people sunbathing, resting, or having picnics and chatting. Others can be seen feeding the koi fish by the small bridge in the Chinese garden, showcasing a leisurely atmosphere amidst the hustle and bustle. The Shibama Tea House is also bustling with visitors, many of whom come to enjoy tea under the influence of Professor Yeh Dong-tai. Inside the public hall, there are various art exhibitions, making this place not only a treasure trove of architecture but also a sanctuary for artistic life.
