Former Tainan Prefectural Governor's Residence Introduction

Built between 1898 and 1906, it served as the residence of the Tainan prefectural governor during the Japanese colonial period. It later became the official residence for senior officials of the Ministry of the Interior. After World War II, it was used as a residence for high-ranking government officials, and plainclothes security personnel were stationed there. Eventually, it served as a dormitory for faculty members of Tainan First Senior High School. Due to neglect, it fell into disrepair until it was restored and reopened in September 2017, and it now serves as a reception venue for foreign guests of the Mayor of Tainan.
