Ding Tou Ag Sandbar Introduction
Adjacent to the Guosheng Harbor Lighthouse, this is a coastal sandbar, serving as a barrier at the southern end of the Qigu Inner Sea, formed by sediment carried by western Taiwan's rivers. Over the years, the Taiwan Strait's waves have transported this sand, gradually piling it up until it emerges above the water, creating a long, narrow sandbar. A desert landscape like this is indeed rare in Taiwan; some people believe it bears a resemblance to the Tottori Sand Dunes, while others refer to this sandbar as Taiwan's version of the Sahara Desert. During sunset, the contours of the sandbar become distinctly illuminated, attracting many photographers. Due to its tranquility, it is also a popular spot for individuals to bring yoga mats and practice yoga facing the expansive ocean. In recent years, stunning photos shared on the internet have turned this place into a must-visit destination for many adventurers looking to capture memorable shots.
