Liu Kong Wharf Introduction

At Liukong Pier, take a fishing raft and enjoy a leisurely trip through the lagoon. Want to get closer to the lagoon? Riding the sightseeing fishing raft has become the most popular way to travel in Siouguluan in recent years. Liukong Pier is a small dock for tourists to board bamboo rafts to explore the lagoon. Not only can you take a rubber raft to enjoy the lagoon (for suitable tidal times, please inquire with the boat operators or guesthouses), but you can also appreciate the oyster farms, fixed fishing nets, and stroll along the sandbar. If the weather is clear, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset over the lagoon. If you're fortunate to encounter a friendly fishing raft captain, they might even offer grilled oysters and milkfish for visitors to taste. The lagoon is dotted with oyster racks and fishing areas enclosed by bamboo poles, where fishermen skillfully navigate their sightseeing rafts with ease, much like driving a car. Rows of bamboo pole enclosures look identical, but the fishermen clearly know whose fishing grounds they are. Sometimes, fishermen will demonstrate how to operate the fixed nets. As you weave through this area, you will frequently see rows of low oyster racks. Due to the stable water flow and clean seawater, the oysters they produce are among the most famous local specialties. Occasionally, you can see oyster farmers harvesting oysters, as well as anglers casting their lines. After about 20 minutes on the sightseeing fishing raft, you will reach the sandbank, where in addition to fiddler crabs and mud crabs, the vast rows of Casuarina trees serve as a favorite habitat for egrets. Occasionally, you can spot nests of several types of migratory birds, including fledglings waiting to be fed, and in the evening, you can witness adult birds returning to their nests.
