Taiwan Holocaust Museum (Chalutian Church) Introduction
The towering and magnificent church architecture in the Ren-De District is quite rare. The name Taiwan Holocaust Peace Memorial Museum may not be familiar to many, but if someone mentions the Che-Lu-Chian Church, many will know where it is. The film "Go Go, Boy!" starring Chen Bo-lin was filmed in the Ten Drum Cultural Village, which also captured scenes of the Che-Lu-Chian Church. The Taiwan Holocaust Peace Memorial Museum is located on the second floor of the church, and it is the only cultural museum in Taiwan that focuses on Jewish artifacts. The Holocaust refers to the historical event during World War II when the Nazis persecuted and killed over six million Jews. To comfort the Jewish people and awaken the world to the ideal of global peace, Holocaust memorials have been established around the world, and the Che-Lu-Chian Church is one of them. The exhibition space extends from the staircase on the first floor to the second floor, showcasing the tranquil lives in small European towns, the upheaval caused by Hitler's rise, and the persecution suffered by the Jewish people. Old photographs and various collections are displayed in full, making it a rare historical and cultural museum in Taiwan that is well worth a visit.
