Longhu Temple Introduction

Along Provincial Highway No. 3 and No. 20, the giant statue of Guanyin on the distant mountain is certainly familiar to many. This is the landmark of Longhu Temple on Wufeng Mountain, a Buddhist temple that was relocated here in 1816 and has become one of the local guardian deities. In front of Longhu Temple, there is an excellent 180-degree view that offers sights of Kaohsiung's qieding area and Tainan cityscape. The nearby cafes are plentiful, and you can also access the Wuyan Mountain hiking trail. On weekends, many visitors often arrive early in the morning to pay their respects and enjoy hiking picnics. In the afternoon, you can choose a favorite cafe to sit down and appreciate the beautiful mountainous scenery among the forest, which, combined with the majestic Guanyin statue, truly allows one's spirit to settle. At night, the lights around the Guanyin statue illuminate, making the Bodhisattva appear to shine with Buddhist light, echoing the brilliant city nightscape below, resembling a loving elder watching over the city.
