Shanlin Bridge Introduction
The Shanlin Bridge is located on the Nanzixian Creek section of Highway 129 and serves as one of the two major traffic routes between Shanlin and Jiasian, running parallel to Highway 29. The Shanlin Bridge was opened at the end of 2013, replacing the old bridge that was damaged during Typhoon Morakot, significantly reducing travel time across the Nanzixian Creek. The bridge has a span of 370 meters and a width of 9 meters, with a total length of 1180 meters including the approach. It is a no-pier, double-arch steel bridge, featuring a white steel arch that crosses the Nanzixian Creek. Its gentle curves harmonize with the valley, distant mountains, and the rural streets of Shanlin, making it the most beautiful scenic bridge in the Shanlin District.
