Xingan Temple Art and Cultural Center Introduction
The Xinian Temple Cultural and Art Center is located in the Kunjiang Village of Beimen, not far from the bustling Nankunshen Daitian Temple. It carries a sense of desolation and the tranquility of the traditional fishing village in Beimen. The honored artist Mr. Hong Tong, known as the "Eastern Picasso," created world-shocking works here. His paintings are filled with rich fantastical colors, and the techniques he used for coloring and brushwork were uncommon at the time. The artworks often feature indecipherable hieroglyphs and characters without ears, which are significant characteristics of his work. Mr. Hong would immerse himself in his small house, losing himself in painting; the house where he once lived still stands proudly behind the Xinian Temple Cultural and Art Center. It displays many photographs from Mr. Hong's life, and walking inside, one can almost envision his earnest dedication to painting.
