Tianliao Cold Spring Area (Tianliao Flower Season Resort Hotel) Introduction
The history of Tianliao Cold Spring is quite long. In the early years, the soil in the Tianliao area was poor, and there was a lack of water sources. Local residents discovered cold springs gushing from rock crevices, and thus they settled near the water, using the cold springs for their livelihood and irrigation, making this precious carbonated cold spring the lifeblood of the Tianliao area. After the Japanese military arrived in Taiwan and stationed here, they found that this was one of the rare carbonated cold springs in the world. They even established a police sanatorium in the cold spring area, which contributed to the development of the local hot spring culture. Tianliao Cold Spring is a naturally occurring sodium bicarbonate spring with a pH of 7 and an average water temperature of 22°C. The water is transparent, colorless, and slightly sulfurous, making it a low-temperature spring. During the Japanese occupation, some people utilized the hot spring for bathing, and it is renowned for its pure and gently warming properties, often referred to as the beauty skin spring. It is also the only area in southern Taiwan with a cold spring.
