Tianliao Cold Spring Area (Tianliao Flower Season Resort) Introduction

The history of Tianliao Cold Spring is quite long. In the early days, the soil in the Tianliao area was poor and water sources were scarce. Local residents discovered cold springs gushing from rock crevices, prompting them to settle near the water and use the cold springs for living and irrigation, making the precious carbonated cold spring the lifeblood of the Tianliao area. When the Japanese military arrived in Taiwan and stationed here, they discovered that this was a rare carbonated cold spring in the world, and they even established a police sanatorium in the cold spring area, giving rise to the local hot spring culture. Tianliao Cold Spring is a naturally occurring bicarbonate spring with a pH value of 7 and an average water temperature of 22°C. It has transparent, colorless water with a slight sulfur smell, characterizing it as a low-temperature hot spring. During the Japanese occupation, people began to use the hot springs for bathing after heating, and due to its pure and gentle quality, it is known as the "beauty skin hot spring." It is also the only area in southern Taiwan with cold springs.
