Tianliao Cold Spring Area (Tianliao Flower Season Resort Hotel) Introduction
The history of Tianliao Cold Spring is quite long. In the early years, the soil quality in the Tianliao District was poor and water sources were scarce. Local residents discovered cold springs emerging from rock crevices, leading them to settle near the water, utilizing the cold springs for their livelihood and irrigation. This precious carbonic cold spring became a life source for the Tianliao District. When the Japanese military arrived in Taiwan and stationed in this area, they discovered it was one of the world's rare carbonic cold springs, even establishing a police sanatorium in the cold spring area, which contributed to the development of the local hot spring culture. Tianliao Cold Spring is a naturally occurring sodium bicarbonate spring with a pH of 7 and an average water temperature of 22°C. The water is clear, colorless, and slightly sulfurous, making it a low-temperature hot spring. During the Japanese occupation, people already utilized the hot springs for bathing, and due to its pure and gentle quality, it is known as the “beauty’s skin spring.” It is also the only area in southern Taiwan that has a cold spring.
