Mangrove Purtree Stream Nature Reserve Introduction
The Mangrove Kandelia Obovata Conservation Area is located at the mouth of the Dianbao River in the Ziguan District. The freshwater discharged from nearby fish farms and the tidal seawater converge in the wetland, providing a growth environment for mangrove plants such as Kandelia obovata, Avicennia marina, and the precious Mammea americana. Because mangroves protect coastlines, conserve water resources, and provide habitats for various organisms, their ecological impact on the environment is profound. Therefore, the government designated this area as a conservation zone in 1992 and entrusted its management to a local junior high school, planning it as an educational area for mangroves. The area features wooden boardwalks and observation platforms with regular guided tours, making it an ideal location to appreciate natural beauty in a tranquil environment and observe the ecology of mangrove species and birdwatching.
