Mangrove Ecological Park Introduction
The Mangrove Keelung River Wetland Reserve is located at the mouth of the Dianbao River in the Zuoying District. The mixture of fresh water from nearby fish ponds and tidal seawater in the wetland provides a growth environment for mangrove plants such as Kandelia candel, Aegiceras corniculatum, and the precious Sonneratia caseolaris. The mangroves help protect the coast, conserve water resources, and provide habitats for various organisms, making a significant impact on the ecological environment. Therefore, the government designated this area as a reserve in 1992 and entrusted its management to Keelung Junior High School, planning it as a mangrove educational park. The park features wooden walkways and observation decks, along with regular guided tours, providing a serene environment to appreciate natural beauty and observe the ecology of mangrove species and birdwatching.
