Mingder Village (Jiangkang Village) Introduction
Mingde on Military Officer Street in Mingde New Village is home to senior naval officers. This area was once the dormitory for the officers of the Japanese Navy's 11th Air Fleet, so the bungalows are primarily designed in Japanese architectural style with spacious courtyards, each officer's residence averaging around 1 to 2 hundred ping. Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone also lived in the village, which continued to house naval officers and their families after the war, making it a true officers' village.
