Tian Gong Kai Wu - R23 Qiaotou Train Station Introduction
To continue the theme of "Making Friends with the World through Art" in the Kaohsiung MRT, the Qieshou Station has commissioned Dr. Zhu Bangxiong from Meinong Ceramics to create a public art piece of ceramic wall art. This massive ceramic wall, located at Exit 2, measures 9 meters wide and 12 meters high, and is named "The Work of Nature." The artwork consists of 1,311 ceramic plates, using over 70 tons of clay. The geometric pattern that runs through the center symbolizes the abstract consciousness of urban construction, while the ends represent the land that nurtures sugarcane. The train transporting sugarcane crosses the land of Qieshou, clearing the clouds and marking the beginning of Taiwan's modernization era. "The Work of Nature" is a breathtaking masterpiece that celebrates the land and pays tribute to the beauty of Qieshou.
