Gangshan Park Introduction
Located in the Gangshan commercial district, Gangshan Park covers an area of 5.95 hectares and is the oldest park in Gangshan District, originally established as Gangshan Shrine. Next to it is the bustling Shoutian Temple, making it an important recreational spot for locals over the years. In 2013, the city government began renovating the park, preserving old trees, removing outdated infrastructure, and refurbishing the shrine's torii gate. It also implemented a system of grassy areas paired with drainage hoses to store and collect rainwater in a 1,200-ton reservoir, while an ecological pond designed to hold approximately 1,600 tons of water helps recharge the groundwater, bringing the park back to its natural greenery. The newly constructed paths are user-friendly, allowing visitors to enjoy birdsong and stroll through the fresh greenery. The renovated library enhances the atmosphere with the sounds of reading and cultural activities. The redesigned park is not only more spacious and bright but also serves ecological, environmental, and flood-retention purposes, making it a refreshing oasis in the busy urban area of Gangshan and a beautiful spot that integrates recreation and culture.
