Gangshan Park Introduction
Located in the Gangshan commercial district, Gangshan Park covers an area of 5.95 hectares and is the oldest park in the Gangshan District, formerly known as Gangshan Shrine. Next to it stands the bustling Shoutian Temple, which has long been an important recreational spot for the public. In 2013, the city government began renovating the park, preserving old trees, removing outdated facilities, and refurbishing the shrine's torii gate. It also incorporated a grassy area designed with drainage pipes to collect and store rainwater in a 1,200-ton reservoir, alongside an ecological pool that can hold about 1,600 tons of water to nurture groundwater, allowing the park to return to a natural green state. The newly designed pathways are user-friendly, offering a pleasant experience of listening to birdsong and strolling through refreshing greenery. The renovated library brings the sounds of reading and cultural activities. The revamped park not only provides a brighter and more spacious environment but also integrates ecology, environmental protection, and flood-storage functions. In the busy urban area of Gangshan, it serves as a refreshing oasis, beautifully blending relaxation and culture.
