Gangshan Park Introduction
Kaohsiung Park, located in the Gangshan commercial area and covering an area of 5.95 hectares, is the oldest park in the Gangshan District, originally known as Gangshan Shrine. Adjacent to it is the thriving Shoutian Temple, which has long been an important recreational spot for the public. In 2013, the city government began restoring the park, preserving old trees, removing outdated facilities, and renovating the shrine's torii gate. The park also incorporates a grass area with a drainage soft tube system to collect and store 1,200 tons of rainwater, along with an ecological pond that can hold about 1,600 tons of water to recharge groundwater, allowing the park to return to its natural greenery. The newly constructed pathways are user-friendly, providing a peaceful environment to listen to birdsong and enjoy the fresh greenery. The renovated library brings sounds of reading and cultural activities, making the park not only more spacious and bright but also integrating ecological, environmental, and flood retention functions. It serves as a refreshing oasis in the busy urban area of Gangshan and is a beautiful gathering place that combines leisure and culture.
