Weiwuying Metropolitan Park Introduction
Weiwuying Metropolitan Park was built after decades of efforts and was once referred to as the "Green Dream." Its motto is "Let children grow up with grass, flowers, and trees; let loving couples wander in the shade of trees and flowers; let the elderly have a place to rest, walk, and exercise; let urban residents enjoy a warm green dream." As you move forward along the undulating green hills, you will find shaded areas, grassy slopes, and old trees preserved to continue providing shade and nests for birds. It feels like a forest in the city, creating fresh air for the urban environment and allowing people to breathe freely. The forest is rich in life; while walking through it, remember to listen, observe, and quietly greet the forest. Weiwuying was originally the site of the National Revolutionary Army’s Eighth Corps, covering an area of 67 hectares. After the corps relocated, the city government transformed 47 hectares into a metropolitan park. The southern side of the park includes South Lake, Summer Avenue, a children's playground, and the three connected buildings left from the original Weiwuying area. The former assembly area for new recruits and the water tower have been converted into a lookout point that offers views of the entire park, complete with a viewing platform and bike paths, as well as large grassy meadows where people can run freely and have picnics.
