Fengshan Tian Gong Temple Introduction
The magnificent "Fengyi Yuhuang Temple," also known as Fengshan Tian Gong Temple, was established in 1798. It is located between Guangming Road and Zhongzheng Road in Fengshan District, dedicated to the Jade Emperor. Initially, it was a simple mud step and thatched roof structure, but due to its ancient and effective spiritual significance, the temple's popularity grew, leading to its current grand scale. The temple features a two-story southern Chinese palace-style architecture, adorned with exquisite carvings and paintings, creating an imposing atmosphere. At the top of the temple, the three deities of Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity, along with the twin dragon tower, are crafted with skillful techniques, dazzling in appearance. Inside the temple, the most famous features include an enlightening plaque and vivid god murals inlaid with jade, along with other impressive wood and stone carvings, all contributing to a rich atmosphere of religious art. In addition to blessing the locals, Tian Gong Temple is the most altruistic temple in the Fengshan area, having established a library and awarded scholarships to assist underprivileged local students and provide disaster relief, which has resulted in a steady flow of devotees.
