Fengshan Tian Gong Temple Introduction
The resplendent "Fengyi Yuhuang Palace," commonly known as the Fengshan Tian Gong Temple, was established in 1798 and is located between Guangming Road and Zhongzheng Road in Fengshan District. The temple is dedicated to the Jade Emperor. Initially a humble earth-and-thatch structure, it gained popularity due to its ancient charm and miraculous efficacy, leading to its current grand scale. The Tian Gong Temple features a two-story Southern Chinese palace-style architecture with intricate carvings and an impressive grandeur. The temple's roof showcases the three deities of Fu, Lu, and Shou, along with the twin dragon towers, all adorned with exquisite craftsmanship and vibrant colors. Inside the temple, one of the most notable features is a plaque urging for moral conduct and the lively depiction of deities in a jade-inlaid mural. Other wooden and stone sculptures within the temple are also worth seeing, creating a rich atmosphere of religious art. Besides providing blessings to the faithful, the Tian Gong Temple is also the most community-oriented temple in the Fengshan area, establishing a library and distributing scholarships to assist underprivileged local students and disaster relief efforts, attracting a continuous stream of worshippers.
