Chenglan Fort Introduction
Fengshan County's New Town originally had six city gates and six forts, but now only one city gate (Dongbian Gate) and three forts (Chenglan, Heisei, and Xunfeng) remain. They are currently designated as city historic sites called "Remains of Fengshan County Castle." The Chenglan Fort is located at the intersection of Lizhi Street and Fuxing Street in Fengshan District (behind Fengshan Elementary School), situated at the southwest corner of the county town. It is an irregular octagonal fort, and one can clearly see several "gun holes" (larger inside and smaller outside) for long rifle shooting on both side wing walls of the fort. From the fort, there is a wide view over the city moat.
