Fengshan County's Xincheng originally had six city gates and six fortifications, but now only one city gate (Dongbian Gate) and three fortifications (Chenglan, Pingheng, Xunfeng) remain, which are currently designated as city historical sites known as "Fengshan County Castle Ruins." Chenglan Fort is located at the intersection of Lijie Street and Fuxing Street in Fengshan District (behind Fengshan Elementary School), situated at the southwest corner of the county castle. It is an irregular octagonal fortification, and the wing walls on both sides of the fort can clearly show several "gun holes" (larger on the inside and smaller on the outside) for long guns to shoot from. From the fort, the view over the moat is expansive.
