Gourd Carving Art Museum Introduction

The bottle gourd, also known as "hù zi," is a common agricultural product in Taiwan's rural areas. Its cute and exquisite appearance makes it hard to resist. Teacher He Ming-hsien is dedicated to the art of gourd creation, investing significant effort in research, continuously challenging and innovating. He further established the Shilin Gourd Art Exhibition Hall, which introduces various carving techniques of gourds and includes a showcase area for student works. The Gourd Art Museum continues to subvert traditional impressions by offering a series filled with literary charm inspired by Tang and Song poetry, along with mid-to-high-end souvenirs. It has also launched practical products such as night lights, pendants, and keychains. Additionally, there are gourd tours, lessons, and hands-on DIY experiences, making gourd art creation more diverse and varied.
