Gourd Carving Art Museum Introduction
Gourd, also known as calabash, is a common agricultural crop in rural Taiwan, and its cute and exquisite shape is hard to resist. In the 1990s, Shanlin District promoted gourd art creation, making it a local feature of Shanlin. Teacher He Ming-hsien is dedicated to gourd art creation, investing a great deal of effort in research, constantly challenging and innovating, and further establishing the Shanlin Gourd Art Exhibition Hall, which introduces various carving techniques of gourds and has a display area for student works. The Gourd Art Museum continues to subvert traditional established impressions, offering a series filled with literary charm inspired by Tang and Song poetry, mid to high-end souvenirs, as well as practical night light series, pendants, keychains, and more. It also features gourd tours, teaching, and gourd DIY experiences, making gourd art creation more diverse and varied.
