Gourd Carving Art Museum Introduction

Gourd, also known as "hùzi", is a common crop in Taiwan's rural areas, and its cute and exquisite appearance makes it irresistible. In the 1990s, the Sanlin District promoted gourd art creation, becoming a local characteristic of Sanlin. Teacher He Ming-hsien is dedicated to the art of gourd creation, investing a lot of effort in research, constantly challenging and innovating. He further established the Sanlin Gourd Art Exhibition Hall, which introduces various gourd carving techniques and features a display area for students' works. The Gourd Art Museum continuously subverts traditional perceptions, offering not only a series of Tang and Song poems filled with literary atmosphere and mid-to-high-end souvenirs but also practical items such as night lights, pendants, and keychains. The museum also provides gourd tours, teaching sessions, and DIY gourd experiences, making gourd art creation more diverse and varied.
