Hua Hsiung Temple Introduction

The Guanghe Temple in Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, also known locally as "Wangye Temple," does not enshrine the Wangye faith like the Five Gods, but primarily worships the Three Mountains National King. This is because Hakka people refer to the Three Mountains National King as "Wangye." Due to the unique belief in the Three Mountains National King among Hakka people, this faith was brought to Taiwan when they migrated and reclaimed land, making Guanghe Temple a central place of worship for Hakka people in the Xinpu area and one of the most famous temples in the region. The most distinctive feature of Guanghe Temple is its "dui chang zuo" architectural style, which is similar to the Wanhui Temple in Wandan Township, Pingtung County. It features a central axis line that divides the left and right sides, each worked on by different craftsmen, resulting in variations in the wooden carvings of the hanging cylinders, bird bracing, and lion pedestals on either side, as they were crafted by different artisans.
