Eagle Watching Trail (Lushan Stream Trail) Introduction
The Eagle Watching Trail is the best spot for eagle watching in Bagua Mountain. It can be accessed through the entrance sign beside County Road 139. The trail is 1.05 kilometers long. Every year, from March to April, the grey-faced buzzard returns from its wintering grounds, passing through Bagua Mountain. At the eagle watching platform, visitors can observe the eagles soaring and descending, making it the best season for eagle watching in Bagua Mountain. In addition to observing the grey-faced buzzard in spring, visitors can also see local birds throughout the year, including the black kite, great egret, Japanese white-eye, white-browed ground-thrush, and the green-backed tit. Along the trail, there are various information boards introducing the bird resources of Bagua Mountain. Outside of the eagle watching season, the platform offers a view of the distant sunset, with beautiful scenery during twilight. Trail length: 1.05 kilometers. Walking time: 0.5 hours. Facilities: signboards, information boards. Trail features: March to April is the best season for eagle watching in Bagua Mountain, which is also the best eagle watching location within the Buddha Recreational Area.
