Eagle Watching Trail (Lushan Creek Trail) Introduction
The Eagle Watching Trail is the best eagle observation spot on Bagua Mountain, accessible through the entrance sign beside Hugang Road (County Route 139). The trail is 1.05 kilometers long. Every year from March to April, the Grey-faced Buzzard returns from its wintering grounds, passing through Bagua Mountain, allowing visitors to observe the eagles taking off and landing from the eagle watching platform, making it the best season for eagle watching on Bagua Mountain. Besides the spring observation of the Grey-faced Buzzard, local bird species can also be seen throughout the year, including the Crested Goshawk, Great Egret, Taiwan Whistling Thrush, White-browed Coucal, and Taiwan Bush Warbler. Various information boards along the trail introduce the bird resources of Bagua Mountain. Outside the eagle watching season, the platform offers a view of the distant horizon, and during sunset, visitors can enjoy the beautiful view of the sun setting in the distance.
