Paper Dome New Homestead Learning Park Introduction
During the day, the Paper Church is adorned with fluttering butterfly shadows, while at night, it radiates a serene and warm atmosphere. The frequent musical feasts and art exhibitions further enhance the elegant cultural ambiance. The design concept of the Paper Church is inspired by the architect Bernini from the Baroque era, utilizing concepts from his work on the churches in Rome. Shigeru Ban employs paper tubes to form an elliptical space between the outer walls, creating a corridor. The paper tubes are closely aligned along the inner circumference of the ellipse, while the spacing of the tubes at the entrance is wider. Upon entering the main hall, the light filtering through the canopy roof creates a wonderful sensation of elevation.
