Paper Dome New Homeland Learning Park Introduction
The Paper Church during the day dances with butterfly shadows, and as night falls, it exudes a tranquil and warm atmosphere. The frequent music banquets and art exhibitions further enhance the elegant cultural ambiance here. The design concept of the Paper Church is inspired by the architect Bernini from the Baroque era, using the same concepts he applied in constructing churches for the Roman Church. Shigeru Ban utilizes paper tubes to create an oval space that forms a corridor between the outer wall and the interior. The paper tubes are densely arranged along the inner circumference of the oval, while the spacing of the tubes at the entrance is wider. Upon entering the hall, the skylight filtering through the roof provides a wonderful feeling of uplifting transcendence.
