Paper Dome New Homeland Learning Center Introduction
During the day, the Paper Church dances with the shadows, and as night falls, it radiates a tranquil and warm atmosphere. The regular music banquets and art exhibitions held here further enhance the elegant cultural ambiance. The design of the Paper Church is inspired by the concepts used by Baroque architect Bernini when constructing churches for the Roman Catholic Church. Shigeru Ban utilized paper tubes to create an elliptical form and a corridor between the exterior walls. The paper tubes inside the ellipse are densely arranged, while the spacing of the tubes at the entrance is wider. Upon entering the lobby, the skylight filtering through the roof creates a remarkable feeling of elevation.
