Paper Dome New Homestead Learning Park Introduction
During the day, the Paper Church is adorned with fluttering butterfly shadows, and as night falls, it exudes a serene and warm atmosphere. The frequent musical feasts and cultural exhibitions add to the elegant cultural ambiance of this place. The design concept of the Paper Church comes from the Baroque architect Bernini, who utilized similar ideas when constructing churches for the Roman Catholic Church. Shigeru Ban employed paper tubes to create an elliptical space, forming a corridor between the elliptical shape and the outer wall. The paper tubes are densely arranged along the inner perimeter, while the spacing of the tubes at the entrance is wider. Upon entering the hall, the skylight filtering in from the ceiling creates a sense of upward transcendence that is truly remarkable.
