Tamshui Port Introduction
Tanmen Harbor is the most important gateway for Wang-An, serving as a stopover for vessels traveling back and forth to the islands of Nansha, Qimei, Hujing, Tongpan, and Jianguan Island, as well as between the harbor and Magong. It is also the main fishing port of Wang-An, as other ports like Zhongsha Fishing Port and Shui'an Fishing Port have gradually become abandoned or declined. The nearby Dong'an Village, located to the southeast of the harbor, is the most densely populated settlement on Wang-An Island. The Tanmen Harbor area is the liveliest and most commercially active part of Wang-An, featuring snack stalls, ice shops, car rental services, convenience stores, and more. The pavilion area at the dock is a popular spot for both tourists and locals to escape the sun and wait for their boats to depart. Adjacent to Tanmen Harbor is a streamlined building located to the southeast of Wang-An, which is just a few minutes' walk from the Green Sea Turtle Conservation Center; the center is well-equipped and consists of sections dedicated to Green Sea Turtle introduction, turtle and human ecological display, seabird introduction, and tourism information about the South China Sea. From the harbor, it is a great place to view Jianguan Island and watch the sunrise. Various yachts and boats dock here, so be sure to return to the harbor 10 minutes before the scheduled departure of the yacht. 【Recommended stay time】 0.5 hours, depending on the time of the boats’ stay.
