Tanmen Harbor Introduction
Tanmen Harbor is the most important gateway to Wang-an, serving as a stopover for boats traveling to and from the Nansha Islands, including Qimei, Hujing, Tongpan, and Jianguan Islet, as well as connecting to Makung. It is also the main fishing port for Wang-an, while other ports like Zhongsha Fishing Port and Shui'an Fishing Port have gradually declined. The settlement of Dong'an Village, located in the southeastern part of the port, is the most densely populated area on Wang-an Island. The Tanmen Harbor area is the liveliest and most commercially active place in Wang-an, featuring various services such as snacks, ice shops, car rentals, and convenience stores. The pavilion area by the wharf is where tourists and locals often seek shade and wait for ferry departures. Next to Tanmen Harbor, there is a streamlined building situated in the southeast of Wang-an that is just a few minutes' walk from the Green Sea Turtle Conservation Center. The center is well-equipped and currently features areas dedicated to introducing green sea turtles, turtle and human ecological displays, seabird introductions, and tourism information about the South China Sea. The harbor provides great views of Jianguan Island and is an excellent spot for watching the sunrise. Various yachts and ferry services dock here, so be sure to return to the harbor 10 minutes before the scheduled departure of yacht services. [Recommended stay time] 0.5 hours, based on the duration of boat stays.
