Tiantai Mountain Introduction
Tiantai Mountain, with an elevation of 53 meters, is the highest peak of Wang-an Island. Nearby, it is known for the famous cultural stone production in Penghu. The area around the mountain is flat grassland, where cattle and sheep occasionally roam, creating a naturally picturesque scene. Tiantai Mountain has become the best viewpoint for overlooking Wang-an Island and the nearby Huayu Islet. The rock layers of Tiantai Mountain are primarily composed of microgabbro, characterized by sheet-like joints. On the west side, beneath the coastal cliff, there is a spectacular basalt landscape. Following the trail down to the western coast, one can discover a sea cave that stands 30 meters tall, showcasing the beauty of the microgabbro's joints. This formation is different from the columnar basalt landscapes of Tujing and Tongpan islands, as the interlocking sheet-like joints of Tiantai Mountain create beautiful "stone flowers."
