Dihua Street Wharf_Dihua Street Wharf Container Market Introduction
Dadaocheng was originally the residence of the Pingpu people. Due to a fierce conflict among the Tongan people of Wanhua (Mengjia), the tribesmen moved to settle in Dadaocheng, leading to the construction of shops and houses along the Tamsui River. After the opening of Tamsui Port, Dadaocheng, under the governance of Liu Ming-chuan, became the most bustling distribution center for goods in Taipei City, primarily trading in tea and fabrics. The area around Yanping North Road and Guidai Street became the focus of commercial activities, adding a rich and colorful history to Dadaocheng that is still fondly remembered.
