Dadaocheng Wharf_Dadaocheng Wharf Container Market Introduction
Dadaocheng was originally a settlement of the Pingpu people. Due to intense conflicts among the Tong'an people from Wanhua (Menkang), the ethnic group relocated to Dadaocheng, leading to the construction of shops and houses along the Tamsui River. After the opening of Tamsui Port, Dadaocheng, under the governance of Liu Ming-chuan, became the most prosperous distribution center in Taipei City, primarily trading in tea and textiles. The area around Yanping North Road and Guided Street became the focal point of commercial activities, contributing to the vibrant and captivating early history of Dadaocheng.
