Fumin Ecological Park Introduction
Fumin Eco Park is one of the few parks in Taipei City primarily focused on aquatic ecology. After about five years of organization and construction, it was completed at the end of 2002. Fumin Eco Park is located next to Lane 177, Section 5, Minsheng East Road, in the Songshan District, between Sanmin Road and Xindong Street, covering an area of approximately 8,413 square meters. The park's most distinctive feature is its nearly 100-meter-long ecological waterway, which resembles a miniature version of northern Taiwan's streams. Downstream from the river ecology area is a pond ecology area, which is home to aquatic plants such as red sesame, water lilies, cattails, and Taiwan duckweed. At the end of the ecological area, the floodplain area also hosts a variety of aquatic plants like Changsha, three white grass, and oval-leaved water pepper. Walking in Fumin Eco Park, one can see birds, amphibians, and insects; hear the sounds of frogs, birds, and flowing water; and smell the natural fragrance of wild ginger and osmanthus flowers. Fumin Park offers the residents of Taipei, who are usually surrounded by the hustle and bustle, an opportunity to slow down and experience the beauty of nature.
