Erzihping Introduction
Located on the west side of Yangmingshan National Park, it is a volcanic depression between the main peak of Datun and Erzis Mountain. The road is flat, and the terrain is broad and open, with three ponds in the middle. Due to its location on the lee side of Datun Mountain, it is often shrouded in clouds and mist, creating a beautiful scenery. Additionally, this area is situated between the subtropical and warm temperate zones, with a mild climate and complex forest types, featuring a wide variety of plant species. The edges are dominated by trees such as red nanmu, black pine, and sweet gum, providing a deep and secluded landscape. The sub-canopy and shrub layer primarily consist of Taiwan mountain camphor, viburnum, tree jujube, black cherry, long-stemmed purple gourd, sharp-leaved maple, and Taiwan tree ginseng. The herbaceous layer includes species such as elephant ear, orchid lily, Taiwan indigo, creeping bent, yellow flower mouse tail, water duck foot begonia, and various ferns. The entire area is currently planted with azaleas, mountain cherry, small-leaved red nanmu, and various native plants that attract butterflies and serve as nectar sources, as well as dozens of aquatic plants, making it suitable for activities such as butterfly watching, bird watching, hiking, sightseeing, and plant observation.
