Located next to Tamkang University, "Aunt Nine's Traditional Douhua" opened in 2008 and specializes in traditional desserts such as shaved ice and douhua from the 1930s. Its simple flavors are incredibly popular among locals and students. The shop offers rare items like moon-viewing shaved ice, four-fruit shaved ice, and snowflake ice, as well as handmade ai-yu jelly and rice noodles. Online users jokingly say that enjoying the ice here feels like returning to childhood. Coming in summer for a bowl of refreshing shaved ice is extremely satisfying, while in winter, the shop's black sugar roasted glutinous rice cakes are highly recommended, simmered in sweet syrup until soft and wrapped in fragrant peanut powder, making for a heartwarming afternoon tea. Alternatively, a bowl of red bean soup or ginger sweet potato is also delicious!
