Futai Street Western-style House (Former Site of the People's Daily) Introduction
Originally the site of the Takara Group's Taiwan branch civil engineering company, in the late 1930s, it was taken over by the liquor merchant Yoshio Sato, who imported "Fukunahimo" sake. On January 1, 1946, Song Feiru and Wang Tiandeng operated the "People's Guide" here, making sharp critiques and comments on the situation. After the incident erupted, Song Feiru and Wang Tiandeng were arrested and subsequently disappeared, with the police stating they were the "main force instigating riots with reactionary and absurd slanderous remarks against the government."
