Fu Tai Street Western-style Building (Former Site of People's Daily) Introduction
Originally the site of the Okura Group's Taiwan branch civil engineering company, it was taken over in the late 1930s by the liquor merchant Yoshio Satohara, who imported "Fiku-nyo" wine. On January 1, 1946, Song Feiru and Wang Tiandeng operated the "People's Daily" here, sharply criticizing and commenting on the political situation. After the incident broke out, Song Feiru and Wang Tiandeng were arrested and subsequently went missing, with the police stating they were the "main force inciting riots with reactionary and absurd statements against the government."
