Yuan Shan Water God Shrine Introduction
Yuan Shan Water Shrine is located across from Jian Tan MRT Station, next to the Yangming Branch of the Water Supply Company. Following the concrete steps, you will arrive at the reservoir where you can see Yuan Shan Water Shrine, which retains its original stone lantern, shrine name monument, water basin, and a pair of guardian dog statues. This shrine is a remnant from the Japanese colonial period, with its layout largely preserved and conveniently located near the MRT station. However, since it is lesser-known, there are rarely tourists visiting. Inside, there is a high area known as the "Yuan Shan Reservoir," which is an important water infrastructure point of the "Grass Mountain Waterway System." Despite Yuan Shan Water Shrine being only a street away from the Shilin shopping district, it is a tranquil place, exuding an ancient, mysterious, and relaxed atmosphere.
