Kuan Yuan Yi Pastry Museum Introduction

In 1708, the ancestors of Kuo Yuan Ye crossed the sea from Zhangzhou, Fujian to Taiwan, using a carrying pole at the Shilin Bridge to start a new chapter in Taiwan's traditional pastry history. Over four generations of legendary management, this century-old store continuously innovated, earning the reputation of "Pastry Family." After a hundred years of refinement, Mr. Kuo Yuan Ye established Taiwan's first pastry museum to preserve the precious historical assets of Taiwan's pastries. The museum displays the century-long history of the "Pastry Family" and introduces the evolution of Taiwan's traditional pastry industry, as well as the customs surrounding traditional Taiwanese weddings, funerals, and celebrations, giving the world a deeper understanding of Taiwan's traditional pastries. The Kuo Yuan Ye Pastry Museum Shilin Branch, established in 2002, is located at the original site of the century-old store and the headquarters of Kuo Yuan Ye on the fourth and fifth floors. In addition to exhibiting the historical evolution of Taiwanese pastries and traditional customs related to celebrations, the museum features a "Happy Baking Room," inviting visitors to make pastries themselves and experience the fascinating world of pastries. There are also a "Parent-Child Activity Area" and an "Outdoor Parent-Child Recreation Area," allowing both adults and children to gain more knowledge about Taiwanese pastries through various activities and facilities.
