Shilin Night Market Introduction

Shilin Night Market is the largest night market in Taipei and a must-visit for foreign tourists in the city. Located near Jiantan MRT Station, it covers a vast area and can be divided into two main sections: one is the streets around the traditional Yang Ming Theatre, including the area around Daan Road's Ciyuan Temple; the other is the newly operated Shilin Market at No. 101, Jihe Road. Most visitors come for the food and shopping, with a wide variety of unique and fun products and delicious food that attract large crowds. This distinctive night market culture is an essential part of Taipei's nightlife. The most famous offerings are the diverse food stalls, representing a gathering of Taiwanese culinary delights, such as the golden large fried chicken cutlet from "Harold's Fried Chicken," crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; addictive skewers; the fragrant "Shilin Large Sausage"; soupy "Shanghai Fried Buns"; "Runbing Roll" filled with braised pork and egg; the sweet and salty "Big Pancake with Small Pancake" with great chewiness; steaming "Herbal Pork Rib Soup" for nourishment; and unique dishes like stir-fried squid, frog eggs, Sanxiong Brothers Tofu Pudding, scallion pancakes, and cold noodles, all of which are mouth-watering snacks that make visitors stop in their tracks and linger.
