Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Park Introduction

Jiang Wei-shui Memorial Park, originally named "Jinxi Park," is located in the Dadaocheng area and covers an area of 5,060 square meters, making it the largest neighborhood park in the Datong District. Mr. Jiang Wei-shui was a Taiwanese democratic fighter and cultural pioneer, with many significant contributions made in the Dadaocheng area, such as the establishment of the Daan Hospital, the founding of the Cultural Association, and the establishment of the Minpao wholesale office. To commemorate Mr. Jiang Wei-shui, the Taipei City Government renamed the nearby Jinxi Park to "Jiang Wei-shui Memorial Park." The park features an entrance sculpture and a memorial sign. The side wall of the entrance sculpture is inscribed with a biography of Mr. Jiang Wei-shui written by historian Mr. Chuang Yong-ming, available in Chinese, English, and Japanese for the convenience of visitors from everywhere. The design of the memorial archway is modeled after the Baroque architectural style of Dihua Street, reflecting the local characteristics; above the front inscription wall is a plaque for the "Jiang Wei-shui Memorial," and on both sides, there are columns inscribed with the slogan "Unity is Strength" by calligrapher Mr. Pan Ching-chung, creating a solemn and dignified overall landscape to highlight its commemorative significance. The park also features pavilions, benches, and playground equipment, inviting everyone to slow down and explore the story of Jiang Wei-shui.
