Ganzhou Street, Tea Leaf Street Introduction
Ganzu Street, commonly known as Tea Leaf Street, plays a significant role in the history of tea in Dadaocheng. At its peak, Ganzu Street and the nearby Guisi Street were home to over a dozen tea shops. Additionally, important contributors to the development of tea during that time included "Jin Ji Tea Shop" on Guidé Street, "Xin Fang Chun Tea Shop" on Minsheng West Road, "Nan Xing Tea Shop," which is now the Quanxiang Tea Factory on Xining North Road, and "You Ji Ming Tea" on Chongqing North Road. Although Ganzu Street has declined in recent years, it still hosts about five or six tea shops that adhere to traditional tea-making techniques and showcase authentic tea culture. Each cup of tea here is a result of complex processing, enhancing its fragrance and aftertaste. Furthermore, the tea leaves are guaranteed to be genuine, reflecting the honest hospitality spirit passed down by the older generation. Additionally, Chaoyang Park on Chongqing North Road is now a tea industry-themed park that documents the past contributions of the tea industry and aims to revitalize business opportunities in the old community through the integration of tea with culture, leisure, and tourism.
