Ganzhou Street - Tea Leaf Street Introduction
Ganjhou Street, commonly known as Tea Leaf Street, occupies an important place in the tea history of Dadaocheng. During its peak period, there were more than ten tea shops clustered on Ganjhou Street and the nearby Guishui Street. Additionally, the "Jin Ji Tea Shop" on Guide Street, the "Xin Fang Chun Tea Shop" on Minsheng West Road, the "Nan Xing Tea Shop" which is now the Quanxiang Tea Factory on Xining North Road, and "You Ji Ming Tea" on Chongqing North Road played significant roles in the development and expansion of the tea industry at that time. Although Ganjhou Street has declined now, there are still five or six tea shops that adhere to traditional tea-making techniques, fostering an authentic tea culture. Each cup of tea goes through a complex process of production, resulting in a fragrant and lingering flavor. Moreover, the tea leaves here do not cut corners, reflecting the honest hospitality passed down from the older generation. Additionally, Chaoyang Park on Chongqing North Road is now a tea-themed park that records the past contributions of the tea industry and hopes to revive the business opportunities of the old community through the integration of tea with culture, leisure, and tourism.
