Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum Introduction
Dadaocheng is the main birthplace of modernist thought in Taiwan. The enlightened individuals of Dadaocheng demonstrated an expansive worldview and profound cultural literacy, sowing the seeds of new culture even under the oppressive rule of Japanese colonial governance. They cultivated resilient new cultural blooms. The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall will recreate the unparalleled historical splendor of Dadaocheng, recalling the fearless pioneers of the new culture. In addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials related to the New Cultural Movement, the hall will continue to integrate and revitalize various precious cultural assets related to Dadaocheng, investigate the activities and residences of important historical figures, and connect them into cultural history trails, aiming to transform into the "Dadaocheng History and Arts Center." This initiative will allow Dadaocheng to become an open cultural historical ecological museum. In the future, visitors can listen to cultural workers recount the inspiring historical deeds of the enlightened individuals and scholars of the self-aware era along the streets of Dadaocheng. Furthermore, they can recreate the historical atmosphere in the museum, savor contemporary new literature, listen to modern ballads, enjoy new dramas, and appreciate contemporary new art in different exhibition halls.
