Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall Introduction
Dadaocheng is the main birthplace of modern thought in Taiwan. The righteous people of Dadaocheng exhibited a broad worldview and profound cultural literacy, sowing the seeds of new culture even under the oppressive Japanese colonial rule, giving rise to resilient new cultural blooms. The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall aims to recreate the glorious historical beauty of Dadaocheng, recalling the fearless pioneers of new culture. In addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials related to the New Cultural Movement, it will continue to integrate and revitalize various precious cultural assets related to Dadaocheng, investigate the activity sites and residences of important historical figures, and connect them into a cultural historical trail. It will also be developed into a "Dadaocheng Historical and Cultural Center," transforming Dadaocheng into an open ecological museum of cultural history. In the future, people will be able to listen to cultural and historical workers recount the inspiring historical deeds of righteous individuals and literati from the self-aware era on the streets of Dadaocheng, while also experiencing the contemporary historical atmosphere within the hall, savoring contemporary new literature, listening to modern ballads, enjoying new plays, and appreciating modern art in various exhibition halls.
