Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum Introduction

Dadaocheng is a major birthplace of modern thought in Taiwan. The benevolent and ambitious individuals of Dadaocheng exhibited a broad worldview and profound cultural literacy. Even under the oppressive rule of Japanese colonialism, they sowed the seeds of new culture, which later blossomed into a resilient new cultural movement. The Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall will revive the magnificent historical splendor of Dadaocheng, commemorating the fearless pioneers of the new culture. In addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials related to the New Culture Movement, the hall will continue to integrate and revitalize the precious cultural assets connected to Dadaocheng. It will research and locate significant historical figures' activity sites and former residences, linking them into a cultural history trail and establishing itself as the "Dadaocheng History and Arts Center." This will transform Dadaocheng into an open cultural history ecological museum. In the future, visitors along the streets of Dadaocheng will be able to listen to cultural and historical workers recount the poignant stories of self-aware individuals, scholars, and artists from that era. They will also be able to recreate the historical atmosphere of the time within the hall, experiencing contemporary new literature, listening to modern ballads, watching new dramas, and appreciating contemporary new art in various exhibition halls.
