Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall Introduction
Dadaocheng is the main birthplace of modern thought in Taiwan. The patriots of Dadaocheng demonstrated a broad worldview and a profound cultural literacy, sowing the seeds of new culture and blooming resilient new cultural flowers even under the oppressive rule of Japanese colonialism. The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall aims to recreate the unparalleled historical splendor of Dadaocheng, recalling the fearless pioneers of the new culture. In addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials related to the new cultural movement, the hall continues to integrate and revitalize various precious cultural assets related to Dadaocheng. It investigates the historical sites and residences of important historical figures, linking them into a cultural and historical trail, and aims to become the "Dadaocheng History and Arts Center," transforming Dadaocheng into an open cultural historical ecological museum. In the future, visitors on the streets of Dadaocheng can listen to cultural and historical workers recount the moving historical deeds of the enlightened patriots and literati from that self-aware era. They can also reshape the contemporary historical atmosphere inside the hall, savor contemporary new literature in various exhibition halls, listen to modern folk songs, enjoy contemporary new dramas, and appreciate contemporary new arts.
