Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum Introduction
Dadaocheng is a major birthplace of modern thought in Taiwan. The idealists and visionaries of Dadaocheng demonstrated a broad worldview and profound cultural literacy. Despite the oppression of Japanese colonial rule, they planted the seeds of new culture, which bloomed into resilient new cultural flowers. The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall will recreate the extraordinary historical splendor of Dadaocheng and commemorate the fearless pioneers of the new culture. In addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials related to the New Cultural Movement, it will continue to integrate and revitalize the precious cultural heritage associated with Dadaocheng. By researching the activity sites and residences of important historical figures, it will connect them into a cultural historical trail and transform into the "Dadaocheng History and Arts Center," making Dadaocheng an open cultural history ecological museum. In the future, on the streets of Dadaocheng, visitors will hear cultural historians narrate the inspiring historical deeds of idealists and literati from the self-awareness era. Furthermore, the hall will recreate the historical atmosphere of that time, allowing visitors to appreciate contemporary new literature, listen to modern ballads, watch contemporary new drama, and enjoy contemporary new art in various performance halls.
