Dragon Boat Rock Trail Introduction

The entrance to the Longchuan Rock Trail is located at No. 62, Bishan Road, Neihu District. The trail is a 600-meter-long stone path that is a great place to observe the local ecology. Longchuan Rock is situated below the ridge of Kaisyuan Mountain and is a white quartz exposed rock, standing at an elevation of 300 meters. Due to its resemblance to a dragon boat, locals refer to it as "Shichuan" or "Longchuan Rock." Because this rock is located on a ridge, caution is advised as one side is a 90-degree cliff, and the other side is a 45-degree precipice. Nearby peaks include Kaisyuan Mountain, Bishan, Baishihu Mountain, and Wuzhishan, all belonging to the Wuzhishan mountain range in Neihu District. There are buses that can reach the entrance near Longchuan Rock; after getting off at Shikang Station, it takes about a 1-kilometer walk to reach the site. The trail is paved with flagstones and is lined with various ferns and wild plants, adding enjoyment to your hike to the summit. From the rock top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Shikang Mountain and Kaisyuan Mountain, with vast skies that invite lingering and escaping the urban hustle and bustle. The surrounding pastoral scenery is beautiful and varied, offering a unique countryside atmosphere that is refreshing and pleasant. (Source: Baishihu Leisure Agricultural Area)
