Dragon Boat Rock Trails Introduction

The entrance to the Longchuan Rock Trail is located at No. 62 Banshan Road, Neihu District. It is a short 600-meter walk along a stone-paved path and is a great place to observe local ecology. Longchuan Rock is situated below the ridge of Kaiyan Mountain, and it is a piece of exposed white quartz rock that stands 300 meters high. It resembles a dragon boat, which is why locals refer to it as "Shichuan" (Stone Boat) as well. Because Longchuan Rock is located on a ridge, be cautious for safety as one side is a 90-degree cliff and the other a 45-degree sheer drop. Nearby mountains include Kaiyan Mountain, Banshan, Baishihu Mountain, and Wuzhishan, all of which are part of the Wuzhishan mountain range within Neihu District. There is bus service available near Longchuan Rock that can take you to the entrance; after getting off at Shikan Station, it is about a one-kilometer walk to the trailhead. The path is paved with stones, making the hike enjoyable, surrounded by various ferns and wild plants. Continuing straight along the trail will lead to the summit, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Shikan Mountain and Kaiyan Mountain, offering a vast and breathtaking skyline that allows one to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The surrounding rural scenery is beautiful and diverse, providing a refreshing rural atmosphere that is delightful for the soul. (Source: Baishihu Leisure Agricultural Area)
