Dragon Boat Rock Trail Introduction

The entrance to the Longchuan Rock Trail is located at No. 62, Bishan Road, Neihu District. The trail is only 600 meters long and is a great place to observe local ecology along the stone-paved path. Longchuan Rock is situated at the foot of the Kaiyan Mountain Ridge and is a piece of exposed white quartz rock, standing 300 meters tall. Its shape resembles a dragon boat, which is why locals refer to it as "Shichuan" (Stone Boat) or "Longchuan Rock." Because it is located on the ridge line, standing on the rock, one side drops into a 90-degree cliff, while the other has a 45-degree steep face, so please be cautious of your safety. Nearby peaks include Kaiyan Mountain, Bishan, Baishihu Mountain, and Wuzhi Mountain, all of which are part of the Wuzhi Mountain range in Neihu District. There is public transportation available close to Longchuan Rock; after alighting at the Shikan stop, it is about a one-kilometer walk to the entrance. The path is paved with stones, and along the way, various ferns and wild plants flourish, adding joy to the walk. Continuing straight will lead to the mountain peak. From the summit, one can overlook Shikan Mountain and Kaiyan Mountain, with a vast horizon that makes it easy to forget the urban hustle and bustle. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and diverse, offering a refreshing rural atmosphere that brings peace of mind. (Source: Baishihu Leisure Agriculture Area)
