Kaiqi Douliu Ma Xinxing Temple Introduction
The tranquil location of Fan District Mazu Temple, Shin-Hsing Temple, is situated in the bustling Eastern Market area. It enshrines Mazu and Shennong the Great Emperor. This place was formerly known as Fan District, which is the traditional territory of the Pingpu indigenous Honyan tribe. Therefore, Mazu at this temple is also referred to as Fan District Mazu. Historical records indicate that it was advocated for reconstruction by Shen Changsheng during the Daoguang era, and further renovations took place during the Xianfeng era.
