Douliu Sacred Rose Catholic Church Introduction
The origin of Catholicism in Douliu dates back to the eighth year of the Guangxu era when Wang Lingmu and Father Giovanni Hang established a mission in Douliu, marking the official introduction of Catholicism to the area. The St. Rose Catholic Church is the origin of this mission. The current church was reconstructed in 1953 under the direction of Bishop Niu Huiqing, featuring a Baroque-style architecture, with its tall vaulted ceiling as a notable characteristic.
