St. Rose Catholic Church, Douliu Introduction
The origin of the Catholic Church in Douliu dates back to the eighth year of the Guangxu era when Wang Lingmu and Father Giovanni Hang established a missionary site in Douliu, officially introducing Catholicism to the area. The Saint Rose Catholic Church serves as the origin of this mission. The current church was rebuilt in the 42nd year of the Republic of China under the supervision of Bishop Niu Huoqing, featuring a Baroque-style architecture with a high vaulted ceiling as its distinctive characteristic.
