Agricultural Products Museum Introduction
Combining National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, industrial characteristics, production and marketing centers, and even rice paddy art, Pingtung's agricultural cultural features are fully showcased. To provide a resting space for travelers coming from the south and north and to promote more agricultural and fishery specialties from Pingtung, this commodity hall was built with the concept of "Rice Station," hoping to attract more visitors in the future and create higher value. The first floor is the commodity hall, the second floor is the agricultural university, and the third floor is the rice paddy art viewing area, all of which are filled with the agricultural cultural features of Pingtung and showcase the efforts invested by the county government over the years. The commodity hall, located next to the Pingtung interchange, fulfills the function of the Rice Station by providing resting space for travelers. The building incorporates surrounding elements such as specialty fruit figurines, rice paddy landscapes, grassy slopes, and green plazas, connecting the courtyard greenery to photogenic spots on the viewing platform, creating a local specialty exhibition and sales center for Pingtung. The overall planning and design have also received recognition from the National Excellence in Construction Award. To ensure that Pingtung's agricultural and fishery specialties can become the best souvenirs and to align with the agricultural university on the second floor, the commodity hall was established with the hope of becoming the best marketing platform for new agriculture in Pingtung. The third floor will serve as an open space for turning agriculture into landscape art, and there will be regular rice paddy art displays in the spring and autumn seasons. The second floor of the commodity hall will also become the base for the agricultural university, encouraging students to share and create their own brands, moving towards their dreams. The agricultural commodity hall consists of three floors, totaling 1,573 ping, making it the largest in the country. The first floor sells quality agricultural products from Pingtung, the second floor features the "Delicious Pingtung" special exhibition and the agricultural university training center, where visitors can enjoy the colorful rice paddies from the second and third floor corridors. The opening of the hall is combined with a bonsai art exhibition, and each floor features artistic bonsai arrangements, creating a strong cultural and artistic atmosphere. The design of the rice paddy art patterns incorporates elements of Pingtung's local culture and scenery, featuring local landmarks such as Dawu Mountain, Eluanbi Lighthouse, black marlin, Xiaoliuqiu, and Dapeng Bay, presented through colored rice in black, purple, yellow, white, and green, showcasing the agricultural soft power of Pingtung through three-dimensional transformation techniques.
