Luoshang Recreation Area Introduction
Luoshan Recreation Area is famous for its mud volcano landscape, handmade tofu, and Luoshan Waterfall. When visiting Luoshan Recreation Area, you can personally experience making tofu using the brine from the mud volcano, and also gaze at the Luoshan Waterfall from the nearby Luoshan Big Fish Pond. Walking along the trails allows you to admire the wonders of the mud volcanoes and unique coastal plants, feeling the mysteries of nature. The Luoshan Waterfall is formed by the fault topography of the Coastal Mountain Range, with a height of about 120 meters, comprising two tiers. The abundant water flow is impressive. From a distance, the Luoshan Waterfall appears like a fine silver chain suspended between lush green cliffs. Looking westward reveals the vast expanse of the Hualien-Taitung Valley Plain, and the rustic scenery of the Luoshan Organic Village is laid bare. Near Luoshan Waterfall, the mud volcano is locally referred to as "Salt Flat," and the mud that erupts contains not only gas but also a salty taste. Thus, residents of Luoshan Village have long known to collect gas from the mud volcano for cooking and boiling water, and they also use the brine from the mud volcano to make handmade tofu.
