Grandma's Laundry Place Introduction

Located southeast of Toushe Village, the Cotton Garden settlement is named after the cotton that was once grown here. The Toushe Basin is an upstream catchment area of the Wuli River, thus it has abundant water sources and mountain streams. In the early days, because there was no tap water, residents used the water not only for drinking but also for washing clothes. The streams were paved with long stone slabs that served as washing boards, and community residents gathered here to wash clothes while chatting, forming an alternative way of socializing. Today, a roofed washing area and pavilions have been built to provide rest for visitors. When riding a bike along the Toushe Bicycle Path, it’s worth stopping here to take a break.
