Grandma's Laundry Place Introduction
Located in the southeastern part of Toucian Village, the Mianziyuan settlement got its name because cotton was once cultivated here. The Toucian Basin is an upstream catchment area of the Water Li River, hence it has abundant water sources and numerous mountain streams. In the past, due to the lack of a running water facility, residents not only used the water for drinking but also for washing clothes. Stone slabs were laid in the streams to serve as washboards, where community members gathered to wash clothes and chat, forming an alternative way of socializing. Today, the washing area has a roof and a pavilion for visitors to rest. When you come here to ride along the Toucian Bike Path, you might as well take a break and rest here.
