Sun Moon Lake HouJian Mountain Trail Introduction
Hou Jian Mountain is one of the Four Beauties of Sun Moon Lake, with an elevation of 1,008 meters. The entrance is located at an elevation of 663 meters at the Nantou Bus Tou She terminal, requiring a vertical ascent of about 345 meters. The total length of the route is approximately 6.5 kilometers, making it a physically challenging trail. There are three main routes to climb Hou Jian Mountain, one of which begins from Tou She Village in Yuchih Township, Nantou County, starting at the Nantou Bus Tou She terminal at 663 meters elevation. The trail follows County Road 62 and features a rest pavilion and picnic tables at the summit, offering stunning views of Sun Moon Lake. The scenery is exceptionally beautiful.
