Sun Moon Lake Houjian Mountain Trail Introduction
Hou Jian Mountain is one of the Four Beauties of Sun Moon Lake, with an elevation of 1,008 meters. The entrance is at an elevation of 663 meters at the Nantou Bus Tou She terminal, requiring a vertical ascent of about 345 meters. The total length of the trail is approximately 6.5 kilometers, making it a physically challenging route. There are three trails to ascend Hou Jian Mountain, one of which starts from Tou She Village in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, at an elevation of 663 meters from the Nantou Bus Tou She terminal. The trail runs along County Road 62 and features a rest pavilion and picnic tables at the mountain peak, offering a panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake. The scenery is exceptionally beautiful.
