Sun Moon Lake Houjian Mountain Trail Introduction
Houjian Mountain is one of the Four Beauties of Sun Moon Lake, with an altitude of 1,008 meters. The entrance is at the Nantou Bus Tohshe terminal, which is at an altitude of 663 meters, requiring a vertical ascent of about 345 meters. The trail is approximately 6.5 kilometers long and presents a physical challenge. There are three routes to ascend Houjian Mountain, one of which starts from Tohshe Village in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, at an elevation of 663 meters at the Nantou Bus Tohshe terminal. Along the Tuo 62 Township Road, there are rest pavilions and picnic tables at the mountain peak. From the summit, you can enjoy a distant view of Sun Moon Lake, making the scenery truly beautiful.
