Sun Moon Lake Houjian Mountain Trail Introduction
Houjian Mountain is one of the Four Beauties of Sun Moon Lake, with an elevation of 1,008 meters. The trail begins at the Nantou Bus Terminal at Toucha Village, Yu Chi Township, Nantou County, which is at an elevation of 663 meters, requiring a steep ascent of about 345 meters. The total length of the route is approximately 6.5 kilometers, making it a physically challenging hike. There are three trails to ascend Houjian Mountain. One starts from the Nantou Bus Terminal at Toucha Village, located at 663 meters above sea level, following County Road 62. Along the way, hikers will pass a resting pavilion and picnic tables at the summit, where they can enjoy a panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake and the surrounding scenic beauty.
