Xuánlù Trail, Sun Moon Lake Introduction
Houshan Mountain is one of the Four Beauties of Sun Moon Lake, with an elevation of 1,008 meters. The entrance is at the Nantou Bus Terminal in Toushe, which is at an elevation of 663 meters. It rises approximately 345 meters over a distance of about 6.5 kilometers, making it a challenging route that requires physical stamina. There are three trails to reach the summit of Houshan, one of which starts from Toushe Village in Yuchih Township, Nantou County, at the Nantou Bus Terminal, which is situated at an elevation of 663 meters. The trail follows County Road 62 and passes by a rest pavilion and picnic tables at the mountaintop, offering a panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake, with an extremely beautiful scenery.
