Longzitou Introduction
Near the Yuanshen to Shuimen area, looking out over the Bagua Mountain Range, one can see a prominent hill rising up, known as "Longzitou." The towering stature of Longzitou contrasts beautifully with the surrounding flat fields and meandering streams. Behind Longzitou, approximately 90 hectares of mountainous area is designated as the "Taiwan Macaque Protection Area," which is home to around a hundred macaques. Note: The "Taiwan Macaque Protection Area" was designated in 1981 and was abolished in July 2006, reverting to managed forest land.
