Er Yan Ping Trail Introduction
The trail is currently completed and open for public access. Please pay attention to your own safety. The Er Yan Ping Trail is located beside Taiwan Highway 18 at kilometer 52.8, with an observation platform at the entrance. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long and was originally formed by the passage created by mountain residents during the early years of land cultivation between Xi Ding Mountain and Er Yan Ping Mountain. The trail offers spectacular views, making it a secret spot for photography, especially during sunsets and sea of clouds. The newly added trail extends from the pavilion at the original trail's endpoint and leads further up the mountain with wooden boardwalks. Along the way, there are bamboo forests, unique rock formations, and tea gardens, providing different scenic views. Visitors can overlook the Chianan Plain, Renyi Pond, and Lan Pond Reservoir, and on clear days, can also see Dongshi and Budai Harbors in the distance, as well as the peaks of Yushan to the east. In winter, there is a chance to witness cloud waterfalls and cloud seas, making the sunset views even more attractive to many photographers who visit for the perfect shot.
