The trail is currently completed and open for passage; the public is advised to pay attention to their safety. The Er Yan Ping Trail's entrance is located next to the Taiwan Highway 18 at the 52.8K mark, and there is a viewing platform right at the entrance. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long, and its path was originally created by local residents during the early settlement period, passing through the gap between Xiding Mountain and Er Yan Ping Mountain. The trail boasts excellent vantage points with spectacular views of sunsets and sea of clouds, making it a hidden gem for photography. The newly added section extends from the gazebo at the original trail's end and builds a wooden boardwalk further up the mountain. Along the way, visitors can enjoy different sceneries including bamboo forests, unique stones, and tea gardens, while overlooking the Chianan Plain, Ren Yi Pond, and Lantan Reservoir. On clear days, it is possible to see Dongshi and Budai Harbors in the distance, and to the east, the peaks of Yushan can be spotted. In winter, there are opportunities to witness waterfalls of clouds and sea of clouds, and the beautiful sunsets attract many photographers to capture the moment.

Er Yan Ping Trail Introduction

The trail is currently completed and open for public access. Please pay attention to your own safety. The Er Yan Ping Trail is located beside Taiwan Highway 18 at kilometer 52.8, with an observation platform at the entrance. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long and was originally formed by the passage created by mountain residents during the early years of land cultivation between Xi Ding Mountain and Er Yan Ping Mountain. The trail offers spectacular views, making it a secret spot for photography, especially during sunsets and sea of clouds. The newly added trail extends from the pavilion at the original trail's endpoint and leads further up the mountain with wooden boardwalks. Along the way, there are bamboo forests, unique rock formations, and tea gardens, providing different scenic views. Visitors can overlook the Chianan Plain, Renyi Pond, and Lan Pond Reservoir, and on clear days, can also see Dongshi and Budai Harbors in the distance, as well as the peaks of Yushan to the east. In winter, there is a chance to witness cloud waterfalls and cloud seas, making the sunset views even more attractive to many photographers who visit for the perfect shot.

Transportation Methods:1. Take the Chiayi County bus "Chiayi - Dabang Line," "Chiayi - Fenqihu Line," or "Chiayi - Alishan Line," and get off at Anding Station, then walk about 30 meters to the trailhead. 2. From Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station / Chiayi Train Station, take the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Alishan Line" and get off at Anding Station, then walk about 30 meters to the trailhead.
