The trail is currently completed and open for access. Visitors are advised to pay attention to their own safety. The entrance to the Er Yan Ping Trail is located next to Highway 18 at kilometer 52.8, where there is a viewing platform. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long and follows the path that early mountain residents used to traverse the gap between Xiding Mountain and Er Yan Ping Mountain. The trail offers excellent viewpoints, with stunning sunset and sea of clouds scenes, making it a hidden gem for photography. The newly added section of the trail extends from the original trail endpoint, where a pavilion is located, and continues upward with a wooden boardwalk. Along the way, visitors can enjoy bamboo forests, unique rocks, and tea gardens, with views overlooking the Chianan Plain, Renyi Pond, and Lan Pond Reservoir. On clear days, it is possible to see Dongshi and Budai Outer Harbor, and further east, the mountain range of Yushan. In winter, there is a chance to see cloud waterfalls and seas of clouds, and the beautiful sunset scenery attracts many photographers who come to capture it.

Er-Yanping Trail Introduction

The entrance to the Er-Yanping Trail is located next to the Provincial Highway 18 at 52.8K, and there is a viewing platform right at the entrance. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long and originally served as a path for early mountain residents traversing through the gap between Xiding Mountain and Er-Yanping Mountain. The trail offers excellent views, with stunning sunsets and seas of clouds, making it a hidden gem for photographers. The newly added section of the trail extends from the original trail’s end at the pavilion, creating a wooden mountain path that passes through bamboo forests, unusual rock formations, and tea gardens, allowing for a panoramic view of the Chianan Plain, Renyi Pond, and Lantan Reservoir. On clear days, one can also gaze at Dongshi and Budai Outer Harbor, while to the east lies the majestic peaks of Yushan. In winter, there are opportunities to see cloud waterfalls and seas of clouds, attracting many photographers for its beautiful sunset scenery.

Transportation Methods：1. Take the Chiayi County bus "Chiayi - Dabang Line," "Chiayi - Fenqihu Line," or "Chiayi - Alishan Line" and get off at Anding Station; walk about 30 meters to the trailhead. 2. From Chiayi HSR Station / Chiayi TRA Station, take the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Alishan Line" and get off at Anding Station; walk about 30 meters to the trailhead.
