The entrance to the Er Yan Ping Trail is located next to the Provincial Highway 18 at 52.8K. Upon entering, there is a viewing platform. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long and was originally opened by early mountain residents, passing through the gap between Xidingshan and Eryanping Mountain. The views along the trail are excellent, with dramatic sunsets and sea of clouds, making it a secret spot for photographers. The newly added section of the Er Yan Ping Trail extends from the original endpoint's pavilion further up the mountain, featuring a wooden boardwalk. Along the way, there are bamboo groves, unique rocks, and tea plantations, providing scenic views over the Chianan Plain, Rinyi Lake, and Lantan Reservoir. On clear days, one can also see Dongshi and Budai Harbor to the west and the peaks of Yushan to the east. In winter, there is a chance to see cloud waterfalls and sea of clouds, and the beautiful sunsets attract many photographers who visit specifically to capture the scenes.

Ershan Ping Trail Introduction

The entrance to the Er Yangping Trail is located next to the Taiwan Route 18 at kilometer 52.8. Right at the entrance, there is a viewing platform. The trail is approximately 2,165 meters long and follows the path that was once used by early mountain settlers to traverse between Xiding Mountain and Er Yangping Mountain. The views along the trail are exceptional, showcasing stunning sunsets and sea of clouds, making it a hidden gem for photography. The newly added section of the trail features a wooden boardwalk that extends from the original trail's end by a pavilion further up the mountain. Along the way, there are bamboo forests, unique rocks, and tea gardens, providing different scenic views. Visitors can overlook the Chianan Plain, Renyi Pond, and Lan Pond Reservoir. On clear days, it’s possible to see the Dongshi and Budai outer harbors, and in the east, the majestic peaks of Yushan can be admired. In winter, there is a chance to witness cloud falls and sea of clouds, and the beautiful sunset attracts many photographers who come specifically for photo opportunities.

Ershan Ping Trail Travel Information

Transportation Methods：1. Take the Chiayi County bus "Chiayi-Dabang Line," "Chiayi-Fenqihu Line," or "Chiayi-Alishan Line," and get off at An Ding Station, then walk about 30 meters to the trailhead. 2. At Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station / Chiayi Taiwan Railways Station, take the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Alishan Line," and get off at An Ding Station, then walk about 30 meters to the trailhead.

Parking Information：You can park at the "Anding Parking Lot" or "Xiting Parking Lot."
