The Xudeng Trail is located in Keng Tian Village, Fanlu Township, at the 57.5 km mark on Taiwan Highway 18, right next to the Mei Yuan Loft. The sunrises at Alishan are renowned both domestically and internationally, and in the past, one had to trek to Zhu Mountain to enjoy the sunrise. In fact, the viewing platform on the Xudeng Trail offers a spectacular and expansive view that is comparable to Zhu Mountain, with only half the distance to climb. Since the relative position for the sunrise is similar, the sunrise time here is only a few seconds later than that at Zhu Mountain. For those who do not wish to embark on a long journey, the Xudeng Trail is indeed a good choice. The Xudeng Trail is approximately 700 meters long, with a round trip taking about 40 minutes. The trail’s ecosystem is primarily composed of Moso bamboo forests, and the sounds of birds and cicadas welcome visitors. Along the way, there are three wooden pavilions that serve as comfortable viewing platforms. In particular, the pavilion at the entrance is the highest point with a broad view of the surrounding mountains, making it an excellent spot for sunrise viewing and cloud waterfalls. It is also a great choice for couples to stroll leisurely and for family outings.

Tengding Trail Introduction

The Xueding Trail is located in Dazhu Village, Fanlu Township, at 57.5K on Taiwan Highway 18, next to Meiyuan Building. Alishan is famous for its sunrise, and in the past, one had to trek a long distance to Zhushan to enjoy the sunrise. However, the viewing platform of Xueding Trail offers a spectacular and vast view that is on par with Zhushan, and it only requires half the distance to hike up because the relative position of the sunrise is similar. The sunrise time is only a few seconds later than that of Zhushan. For those who don't want to walk a long distance, the Xueding Trail is actually an excellent choice. The Xueding Trail is approximately 700 meters long, with a round trip taking about 40 minutes. The trail is primarily surrounded by Moso bamboo forest, and the sounds of birds and cicadas welcome visitors. Address：Alishan Highway 57.5K, Chiayi County 602 Barn Road, Taiwan

Transportation Methods：To reach Mei Garden Pavilion (Taiwan Route 18, 57.5K), take bus 7302, 7314, or 7322 from Chiayi and get off at Xietou Ping Station. Walk back about 160 meters to reach Mei Garden Pavilion, then enter the trail entrance via the small path on the side.
