No. 28 Giant Tree of the New Eight Scenic Spots Introduction
The tree species is Chamaecyparis obtusa (commonly known as Hinoki cypress) and it is a merged wood, standing as the tallest giant tree in the giant tree boardwalk. The diameter at breast height is 4 meters, and the tree height is 45 meters. The estimated age of the main trunk is between 1,087 and 1,103 years. The giant tree hosts various endemic plants of Taiwan, including the yellow-flowered rhododendron and the strap fern, showcasing a rich ecological environment.
